The mission of the Arts Center of the Capital Region is to help people create and engage with the arts.
Throughout our 62 year history, we have helped millions to realize their goals through the power of creativity. In addition to our year round studio-based classes, we produce public art projects and exhibitions, offer artist-training programs, and regrant NYS funds to artists and organizations.
In 2025, the Arts Center saw 48,000 people walk through our doors. We offered 450 classes to 5,000 adult students, 44 summer camps to 420 local kids, awarded 500,000 in grant funding to local artists and arts organizations and shared the art of over 500 artists in our gallery exhibitions.
And! We produced Skyline, a stunning gateway mural at the end of the Green Island Bridge, welcoming visitors and residents to Troy.
Our 2026 Gala honors Mike Keegan with the Creative Spirit award. Throughout his tenure, Mike was a dedicated advocate for regional growth and the arts. His early introduction to the Arts Center on River Street by Raona Roy sparked a lifelong appreciation for the impact of cultural institutions on the community’s future. This commitment led him to serve on various boards, including the SUNY New Paltz Foundation, St. Peter’s Health Partners, and the Retail Council Services Corp. and the Erie Canal Heritage Corridor.
We will also honor M&T Bank with the Creative Catalyst Award.
