Our programs serve 30,000 people every year.

The Arts Center offers art programming to the 11-county region surrounding Troy, NY.

Our teaching artists travel throughout the Capital Region to offer diverse art classes to the area’s youth.  They also teach students right here in The Arts Center’s expansive facilities in downtown Troy’s Monument Square.

The Arts Center can collaborate with you to add on-site creative programming to your school or childcare facility’s classrooms.  If your students need someplace new to explore and learn, we can easily accommodate you here in historic downtown Troy’s shopping district.

Is your facility facing staffing and space limitations?

You can offer your students so much more by teaming up with The Arts Center of The Capital Region!

With 5 adjoining buildings and an ever-growing roster of excellent teaching artists, The Arts Center is well-equipped to dramatically enhance the quality of your students’ creative experiences.

These days, by necessity, many public schools focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  They know something is missing but may not have the resources to provide students with a more well-rounded education.  At The Arts Center, art is at the center of everything.  It is part of our mission to make art accessible to people of all ages, from all backgrounds, and that includes the youth you serve.

Your students can only benefit from an opportunity to express themselves.  Creative programming helps youth develop agency and curiosity in the context of a safe space.  They can practice expressing themselves while making new connections in an inclusive, accessible arts facility.  By guiding them in creative exploration, our programming helps students discover new ways to create beauty and joy in the world around them.

Let The Arts Center provide your program with an essential, character-building ingredient.  We’ll bring the Art needed to elevate your S.T.E.M. school into a S.T.E.A.M. school.

The Public Art Explorers Program

The Public Art Explorers Program offers a unique and exciting opportunity for young artists to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of public art, right in the heart of downtown Troy!

Throughout this engaging program, children will not only discover the beauty of local murals but also participate in hands-on art projects inspired by these magnificent works.

Led by experienced instructors, our participants delve into the creative process, experimenting with various art techniques, and collaborating to produce their very own awe-inspiring mural.

In this immersive after-school program, young artists explore various art forms in the 2D realm, including painting, drawing, printmaking, and mixed-media creations.

Inspired by renowned contemporary artists, they will be encouraged to push the boundaries of traditional techniques and embrace innovative approaches to art-making.

Led by skilled instructors with a passion for contemporary art, this hands-on experience empowers young talents to develop their artistic voice while engaging in thought-provoking discussions about the significance of contemporary art in today’s world.
Innovate & Create

In this after-school program, students learn life skills through the lens of photographic perception.

This is The Arts Center of the Capital Region's intuitive mobile art program. We bring creativity to youth with a 'focus' on developing life skills... all through the art of photography.

In this 6-8-week program, our professional photographer provides local youth with new ways of seeing themselves and the world around them.

In this program, photography becomes a powerful tool, helping participants see, think, and perceive the subjects they capture from a completely different perspective.

Would you like The Arts Center to design an exceptional, inclusive, and inspiring after-school program for your students?
