Support for the 2025 Gala is support for the Arts Center

The mission of the Arts Center of the Capital Region is to help people create and engage with the arts.

Throughout our 61 year history, we have helped millions to realize their goals through the power of creativity. in addition to our year round studio-based classes, we produce public art projects and exhibitions, offer artist-training programs, and regrant NYS funds to artists and organizations.

In 2024, the Arts Center saw 48,000 people walk through our doors. We helped 1600 students begin or continue their creative journey. We awarded $510,000 in grant funding to local artists and nonprofit organizations. We welcomed 401 kids to our summer camp program, 50 of whom were scholarship recipients. And! We produced Troy Glow 2024, an inspring public art project bringing 8 large scale light installations and more than 10,000 people to downtown Troy.

Help us honor Robert Hennes & The Howard & Bush Foundation

Our 2025 Gala honors Robert Hennes with the Creative Spirit award. Bob has dedicated over 30 years to the Capital Region nonprofit sector, serving on numerous boards, including the Arts Center. He co-founded Hugh Johnson Advisors, a predecessor to Graypoint, where he now leads the nonprofit services division. A former Arts Center student himself, Bob deeply appreciates the transformative power of the arts.

We will also honor the Howard & Bush Foundation with the Creative Catalyst Award. The Howard & Bush Foundation has been supporting Troy and Rensselaer County residents since 1962, awarding nearly $16 million in grants to local nonprofits across arts, education, social services, and healthcare. From investing in the Arts Center’s core capacity to supporting startups that became community pillars, they invest in the community’s creative and social well-being.
