This class is designed for the oil painter who has progressed beyond the Beginner Level and is interested in developing a higher skill level in their painting journey. Subject matter is an individual choice. An emphasis is placed on starting with a dynamic composition using value sketches in charcoal then transferring to a toned canvas. Students may work from photographs they have personally taken working from their iPads or bring enlarged 8×11 good quality photos with high contrast and clarity. (iPhones are simply too small for this use.). Canvases, brush cleaning supplies, drawing materials, and palette paper are provided. Students must provide their own brushes and paints. There will be a discussion of materials and Rosemary Brushes during the first class and a suggested materials list will be sent to students upon registration.
