Turn personal experiences into a short illustrated story in this hands-on zine-making class. Students will explore autobiographical storytelling, writing, drawing, editing, and layout while creating an old-school black-and-white mini comic/zine in a 5.5” x 8.5” format.
Working with simple materials, students will create their zine by hand. The instructor will guide participants through each step of the process, from developing an idea to shaping the final printed piece. Students will also look at inspiring examples of zines, comics, and visual storytelling, and will leave with a complete autobiographical zine of their own.
