ADULTS (18+) ONLY! Owing its origins to vaudeville, modern burlesque is a movement based performance art that pairs the tradition of theatrical striptease with humor and satire. This class is perfect for beginners and experienced performers alike who want to develop a signature burlesque act. You’ll learn to brainstorm and refine your persona, create a compelling narrative, develop stage presence, select the perfect music, costumes, and props, and collaborate with other artists. The course culminates in a class performance where you’ll showcase your newly developed act. While some basic movement will be covered, the primary focus is on the creative process behind developing your own unforgettable burlesque performance. Embrace your creativity, unleash your inner storyteller, and let your unique voice shine on stage! Note: The last class will be a performance on Sunday, 11/24. Doors at 5:30pm. Show 6pm to 8pm.
