Description
The table saw is the single most important stationary tool in most shops. Beginner and intermediate woodworkers will learn how to safely achieve accurate and repeatable results. Through lecture and demonstration, you will be guided through the basics of blade selection, ripping, crosscutting, the use of jigs, and simple joinery.
The Bandsaw is a remarkably versatile tool and for some it can even replace the table saw as a woodworker’s main machine. For carvers, it can be all but indispensable. This workshop will teach you how to set up and tune a bandsaw for best results with an emphasis on safety. The techniques of ripping, crosscutting, sawing curves or re-sawing thick boards into thinner ones will be explained and demonstrated with hands-on practice as time allows.
Ever wanted to try using a router? The router is a versatile workhorse that can be used to perform a host of operations from milling decorative edges and moldings to executing fine joinery. You will learn how to choose a router (and router bits) and how to get the most out of them. You’ll learn through lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice (stressing safety at all times).
