From a series of posters designed and printed in the 1970s and ‘80s as a service to not-for-profit organizations from NYC to Rensselaer County. Artist Bernice Bornt holds BFA and MFA degrees from Syracuse University and studied at the Art Students League in New York City. Before returning to her native Troy in 1971, she was head of Exhibits Design at the Museum of the City of New York. She taught classes in silk-screen printing at the Arts Center when it was located on Washington Park. On September 5th, 2024, Bernice was honored with a Troy City Council Resolution recognizing her for her service and contributions to the Arts in the City of Troy. A celebration of Bernice’s 96th birthday followed that heartfelt presentation.
