Fence 2025

Exhibition Dates: June 18 – July 31, 2025
Public Reception & Awards Ceremony: Friday, June 27, 5:00–9:00 PM (during Troy Night Out)

The Fence Show is a cherished tradition that harkens back to the days when members proudly displayed their artwork on the iron fence surrounding Washington Park in Troy—the original home of The Arts Center. Today, members’ artwork takes center stage, exhibited salon-style from floor to ceiling in our galleries. This exhibition highlights a diverse range of skill levels and artistic abilities, showcasing an array of media, including paintings, drawings, photography, fiber arts, stained glass, and sculpture.

Juror
We are absolutely thrilled to have Gina Occhiogrosso as the Juror for Fence 2025! Gina brings an exceptional eye and a deep commitment to creative excellence to this year’s exhibition.

Many of you know Gina from her extensive experience in the arts community. She’s currently the Exhibitions and Marketing Manager at Opalka Gallery, Russell Sage College, and also curates exhibitions for the Albany Public Library’s Pine Hills branch. Some of you might remember her as the Gallery Director right here at The Arts Center from 2001–2006, or from her 15 years teaching full-time at The College of Saint Rose.

Beyond her curatorial and educational roles, Gina is a widely exhibited artist herself, with her compelling work featured in galleries across the country and internationally. With her strong regional roots and national recognition, Gina is perfectly poised to select the outstanding artwork for Fence Select 2025.

Fence Select 2025

Each year the Arts Center invites a juror to choose artwork for the Fence Select, an exhibition curated from the works displayed in the Fence Salon. 50 pieces of art will remain on display from August 11th-September 5th.
