2023 & 2024 Arts Thrive and Grow Grant Program

The Arts Center of the Capital Region is proud to share the impact of its Arts Thrive and Grow grant program, which in 2024 awarded $474,000 in funding across Albany, Rensselaer, and Schenectady Counties. A total of 127 grants supported artist-led projects, community partnerships with artists, and direct artist support, strengthening the region’s creative landscape.

“This year’s applications proved that our region continues to grow in creative output, innovative thinking, and service to our community,” said Joseph Mastroianni, ACCR’s VP of Programs and Director of the grant program.

Arts Thrive and Grow is funded by the New York State Council on the Arts with support from the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature through a special Senate Initiative.

The 2024 grant cycle saw unprecedented demand, with 315 applications totaling $2,075,000 in requests. “We have seen this program grow from 60 applications in 2019 to over 300 today, and we thank New York State for helping us foster this incredible expansion of our creative community,” said ACCR CEO Elizabeth Reiss.

Below is a list of the artists and projects funded in 2024.

Arts Thrive and Grow has been funded by New York State, Kathy Hochul, Governor. We thank Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins for her extraordinary commitment and leadership, and our elected officials who represent our grantmaking region: Senators Jake Ashby and Neil D. Breslin; Assemblymembers Scott H. Bendett, Patricia Fahy, John T. McDonald III, Angelo Santabarbara, Phil Steck, and Mary Beth Walsh.
