The Arts Center of the Capital Region is proud to announce that it has awarded $474,000 in Arts Thrive and Grow grants in Albany, Rensselaer and Schenectady Counties. 127 grants have been awarded to artist-led projects, community partnerships with artists and direct artist support.
“This year’s’ applications prove that our region is growing in creative output, innovative thinking and service to our community” says Joseph Mastroianni, ACCR’s VP of Programs and director of the grant program.
Arts Thrive and Grow is funded by New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature through a special Senate Initiative.
The Arts Center received 315 applications totaling $2,075,000 in requests. “We have seen this program grow from 60 applications in 2019 to over 300 today, and we thank New York State for helping us foster this incredible growth of our community” says ACCR CEO Elizabeth Reiss.
