Artist Session Series

Art comes from intelligence,

one must have something to say,

but on the other side, that of capability,

one must be able to express it.

-Joseph Beuys, 1972

  • WHAT IS ARTIST SESSION SERIES? ·

All artists benefit from dialogue with their peers.

Artist Session Series is an open platform for artists to gather and discuss their work.

Artist Session Series is open to all community members at any stage of their creative career.

In this inclusive environment, artists benefit from a cross-generational “crit” experience that welcomes all levels of the conversation.

  • FORMAT ·

Artist Session Series is a timed format, typically 10 minutes per artist during a 2-hour session.

Artists are asked to bring one example (or a cohesive body) of recent work to present to the group.

All creative mediums are encouraged including (but not limited to) painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramics, installation, performance, sound, and digital creations.

Artists are expected to engage with their peers as part of this collaborative gathering.
